Rural Engineering College Hulkoti is established in 1980, Rural Engineering College (REC) has achieved an enviable status due to a strong emphasis on academic and technical excellence and has been in the forefront of imparting engineering education for over 35 years. Being the first engineering college in the North Karnataka region, it has contributed largely to the development and prosperity of the region. It currently offers 7 Under Graduate and 1 Post Graduate Courses affiliated to Visvesvaraiah Technological University, Belgaum, and is recognised by AICTE, New Delhi. It is also a Visveshwaraiah Technological University recognized Research Center in 6 disciplines with over 50 researchers pursuing PhD in Chemical Engineering disciplines.
